Approaching a big milestone

We are finishing up two high doses of methotrexate. Next up... life changing surgery.

Jordan has been cleared of the last treatment of methotrexate (pre-surgery) this morning and is waiting on the discharge process to be complete. He rocked these last two weeks. Overall he felt good and made it a point to move around, eat well and stay hydrated. He also practiced walking up and down stairs using his arms with his physical therapist during his hospital stay this week to get ready for what's to come.

Throughout this week, Jordan underwent a variety of test for his surgical team preparation. A CT exam and PET scan were conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday to get a good look at the tumor and detect any active cells throughout his body. The results: Chemo is very effective! The bone is actually re-growing where the tumor used to be as it has gotten significantly smaller. Therefore, his care team is feeling very optimistic going into surgery. And this continues to support a good long term prognosis. We are beyond relieved! The doctor is also measuring Jordan's leg and growth plates through MRI and Xray imaging to calculate alignment post surgery for long-term functionality.

We have the week off from work, school and hospital stays and will enjoy this time together. Jordan is PUMPED for the World Cup to start on Sunday too, which will be a nice distraction. Next up, RotationPlasty on November 28th.
