For the last 35 weeks, Dan and I have been in overdrive. Our son was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma bone cancer. We had no other choice.
After 20 total hospital admissions, 76 nights in the hospital, 18 rounds (32 transfusions) of chemo, 2 whole blood transfusions, 4 platelet transfusions, and one life-changing surgery, I'm beyond thrilled to share that today is Jordan's LAST DAY OF CHEMO!! I have the chills running up my spine as I type this.

On May 12th, Jordan will have an echocardiogram, PET scan, CT scan, MRI, and an audio exam. We will then have a meeting with the solid tumor team on May 15th to discuss the results. All signs have shown that Jordan has beat cancer so we are anticipating a good report.
Next up - getting this boy a leg! He will need a skin graft as he still has a pretty nasty opened wound on the back of his leg. Chemo hasn't done him any favors to help heal it. Then, once healed, he will start the process of getting a prosthetic. I can't wait to start writing about that!
Dan and I are releasing so many emotions, we don't really know how to process this just yet. All we have known for these 35 weeks is being in overdrive. But, we do know how beyond proud we are of this kid. Beating cancer is no easy task.
The bell is waiting for Jordan, upon discharge on Monday/Tuesday and again following his meeting on May 15th. We will continue to share as we shift our gears to celebrate soon.
With so much love and light,
The CO Obies
Ring that bell Jordan!! Such an incredibly strong family, sending positive thoughts your day this week
Jordan, you are an inspiration to us all! Although there are still some hurdles ahead, Congrats on this milestone! It’s truly amazing!
What a great smile that is on your face Jordan!! Wow, you guys are just truly amazing. Have a wonderful homecoming with your family and friends. Keeping good thoughts for you for all that is to come!!Love and light to you all.
Awesome news Jordan!
The decisions you all have had to make. The fact that you have remained engaged with friends and oh... your other child hasn't missed a beat... well maybe something here and there but not so much. Thank you for sharing the "journey" on this site. I imagine that you have a few other words you might use that are more descriptive than journey... maybe some adjectives that have some color. Congrats on the milestone. I know there are plenty more but this one is huge.
