Covid

It's week 30.
Another round of inpatient started yesterday. This is the 4th to last Methotrexate treatment and it's definitely testing our limits. To our surprise, he tested positive for Covid-19 during a standard protocol test before admission. He is asymptomatic.
Positive for Covid = isolation
Upon arrival, we were escorted to our hospital room through a private elevator. Jordan is not allowed to leave his hospital room until he is cleared for discharge (hopefully by Tuesday). Hospital rules. And, they will follow the same protocol for next week's admission. A typical hospital visit includes playing games in the Teen Room, taking walks in and outside, eating in the cafeteria, loitering in the lobby to pass time and having visitors. That has all been stripped from him.
If you are reading this and want to do something to help put a smile on Jordan's face, you can fill out a cheer card through the hospital and it'll be delivered to Jordan on Monday.
Prior to this admission, we were between chemo treatments. It was a nice break. Jordan did need a platelet transfusion but otherwise stayed away from the hospital, went to school regularly and spent some quality time with some friends. His wounds and leg enjoyed the break from chemo as well, giving him some time to properly heal.
The next few weeks will be taxing. Dan and I are splitting the hospital stays. Today is his birthday and celebrating with fresh snow in the mountains. Happy Birthday Dan! He will relieve me tomorrow, and I'm sure Jordan will appreciate the change up. After this weekend, he has another Methotrexate inpatient visit on Friday and then outpatient for Doxorubicin. His heart function and blood levels will be monitored throughout and if all goes to plan, he will conclude with 2 more inpatient Methotrexate sessions over the weekends of April 21st and April 28th.
We are still taking one day at a time, and trying really hard to stay strong over the next couple of weeks during this "isolation" period. I wonder... if they didn't test for Covid, would he have it? ;-)
Here is a pic of Jordan working on his PT exercises today. Killing time and getting stronger.

Thanks for reading!
