Inspiring progress

An uplifting update on Jordan's health: his recent 6-month cancer screening in early November was a success. The results revealed no indication of a weakened immune system, marking another positive milestone in his journey towards recovery. We are filled with gratitude for the good news and remain optimistic about the path ahead.

Jordan's resilience shines through each day as he grows stronger. Embracing his new normal, he now wears his prosthesis daily, supported by a single crutch while his leg gains strength. We were able to finally take a family vacation with no medical interruptions or concerns. There are so many things to be grateful for.

In Jordan's journey, we're fortunate to have Agile Orthopedics and our dear friend Eric as his prosthetist. Eric, the owner of Agile, along with his co-founder of ROMP (The Range of Motion Project) David Krupa, providing prosthetics for those in need in Central and South America, have been dedicated to giving Jordan the best care for a strong future in his prosthetic We cannot begin to express how fortunate we feel to have David, Eric, and the Agile team in our corner. We are lucky!

Being part of this community is truly an honor. On Thursday, we attended ROMP's annual event, connecting with inspiring amputees. This was such a cool experience for all of us, but particularly Jordan. Here is a picture of Jordan, Sami and their cousins Kailyn and Owen with Cam Ayala who was the emcee for the event. You might recognize him from the show The Bachelor prior to his amputation.

This is now his community and he is starting to build his network within the amputee society. Tomorrow marks the beginning of casting for a new prosthetic, offering a better fit and increased range of motion—a significant step forward in his journey towards recovery.

Over Thanksgiving, our family embarked on a memorable trip to Belize, cherishing uninterrupted moments together. The true highlight was the precious family time we shared. We embraced exciting adventures like horseback riding in the jungle, climbing on the Mayan Ruins, discovering scuba diving, fishing, and snorkelingand he did this all with one leg!

Jordan, fueled by his determination, is impressing us daily. In case you missed it on social media, Jordan conquered the slopes during his first 3-track skiing lesson with an outrigger setup, leaving instructors amazed. For Jordan, being back and excelling in the activity he loves the most has brought immense joy, and we couldn't be happier for him. The mix of emotions we felt watching him conquer this challenge was indescribable.

He's also exploring new athletic pursuits, including engaging with athletes in the amputee soccer community, a sport he aspires to play again in the coming years.

It's heartening to witness his enthusiasm and zest for life returning, proving that his spirit is indomitable. He not only redefines what's possible for himself but also becomes an inspiration for those around him. We're immensely proud of his progress and the vibrant spirit with which he approaches each new endeavor.

Thank you for following along with Jordan's journey. We trust this update will inspire you all to stay positive and remind you of the strength that resides within the human spirit. As we approach the holiday season, we send warm wishes to all of you. May this season be filled with joy, love, and good health. Cheers to a happy and fulfilling holiday season.

With Love and Light,

The CO Obies
