On June 30th, Jordan received his final prosthetic leg. It has been worth the wait, although there is a progressively long road ahead as he continues to heal and strengthen.

As you can see in the picture, Jordan had a wound vac to help heal the pressure wound located on the back of his leg. The team at Agile Orthopedic built his prosthetic around the wound so he can continue to heal while he gets more mobile. Today, the wound is still a thing but the vac is no longer required. We have been visiting Children’s Hospital for weekly check ups and received good news today that he can start to shower without wrapping it in plastic. New tissue is forming and the wound is slowly healing. It’s progress.
Meanwhile, Jordan began physical therapy. It’s been on hold due to the wound but we got the clearance to move forward last week. It’s fascinating to watch and learn what muscles he needs to use to walk with his Rotationplasty. Overtime, his range of motion and strength will improve and he will no longer require his forearm crutches for support.

For activities this summer, Jordan is helping coach the Golden High School’s soccer team, working part time at a local printing company, taking an online drivers education course and spending time with friends. He is a busy kid. Perhaps his right shoe will get dirty/used to match his left one soon.

His sister, Sami, has taken on possibly more chores than she would have liked, as her brother is limited, but she doesn’t complain. I’m fairly confident she is waiting for the day he can help empty the dishwasher. They get along well. We are lucky.

August is upon us. Both kids have birthdays, Jordan gets his drivers permit and it‘ll be one year since Jordan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma Bone Cancer.
We will continue to share updates with Jordan’s progress. There are some major milestones ahead.
With love and light,

AHH… getting there!!! So good to hear this wonderful news. Congratulations Jordan. You (and yours) deserve every happiness. LOVE the picture of you and Sami! 😝❤️🙏🎉
Happy to read of such progress!
Super cool. So great to learn about the progress. The curve ball is going to be hit out of the park here soon. Well... "curve ball" might be a bit of an understatement... well... perhaps more than a "bit". Thanks for continuing to share. Your family's "endurance" is no joke.
Fantastic news about the tissue forming and the wound healing! Great progress, really happy to see this!
