This post is a bit delayed, but sharing that Jordan is home. After 2 platelet transfusions and a pneumonia scare, he was able to leave the hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
Tuesday night, his O2 levels were low as he was asleep so they took all of the necessary precautions and conducted an X-ray at 4am. Lungs were clear. He was put on O2 for the rest of the morning until he awoke and was able to keep is oxygen up on his own. Then he received his second platelet transfusion before dippin' (aka leaving the hospital). There is never a dull moment but grateful for the staff at Children's Hospital.
Jordan is feeling well. Tired but otherwise ok. He went to school today and is trying to catch up with his academics over the next few days before he is admitted back in the hospital on Friday for another Methotrexate chemo treatment. Checking boxes.
The next few months have him inpatient for 2 rounds of Methotrexate (about a 5 day stay for each) and 2 rounds of outpatient for Doxorubicin. Dox will cause his blood levels to be compromised so we will need to keep a close eye on him. The more chemo he gets, the harder it becomes to recover.
Thank you for always keeping us in your thoughts. We are taking one day at a time.
happy you are home. looking forward to the message that says no MORE chemo!!!! I admire you all so much! Jordan, you got this and I can’t wait for you to be out of the hospital once and for all!!!
So many adjectives to use and none are likely spot on - amazing the stamina, insane the roller coaster, inspirational the conviction, courage and composure.
You are all I my thoughts and sending lots of Florida sunshine to your family.
